Arctic Frontiers Emerging Leaders
Earlier this January Dr Alex West was delighted to attend the Arctic Frontiers Emerging Leaders 2019 program. This prominent initiative brings together a selection of 31 participants from a diverse range of backgrounds to discuss important arctic issues and establish valuable networks for the future. The course began in Bodø and progressed aboard the Hurtigruten through the stunning Lofoton islands before arriving back in Tromsø in time to attend the Arctic Frontiers conference 2019. Along the way, the group met with high profile mentors from the academic, public and business sectors who brought their own unique insights of the arctic. Alex was very pleased to have been given such a great opportunity to represent the interests of the arctic chronobiology and physiology department from UiT at this forum. His attendance on the program was generously funded by a scholarship from the Norwegian Research Council.
